Arvada playwright Deanna Giles has created something uniquely beautiful. "Torn, The Musical" is filled with multiple forms of artistic expressions including live painting, poetry, dance, and of course, great music.
"Torn" is a musical about a girl in love with a painter, in love with a painting. As the romantic story unfolds, art comes to life. The world premiere of this production is based on Giles’s fantastic musical of the same name. Through performance art, dance and 16 original songs, a romantic adventure unfolds with many surprises.
Two original paintings by Tony Achilles are featured in the musical and they partially inspired the story. Tony is also an actor and musician and will be playing the role of the painter along with the two other lead performers, Judy Porter and Deanna Giles.
The cast also features a chorus of the best and brightest talented musicians, actors and dancers from Pomona High School: Grant Gonzalez, Obi Roberts, Lily Valdez, Riley Billings and Jack Eller.
The show dates are Saturday, July 14th at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, July 15th at 7:30 pm at Gallery 1984.
The cast and crew are proud to bring a theatrical production back into the heart of Olde Town Arvada at the Gallery 1874 stage.
